Bailey Shelton

Bailey Shelton currently serves as the Director of Communications for the Children’s Foundation of Mississippi. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a minor in Public Relations from the University of Southern Mississippi. Subsequently, she earned a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from the same program. During her undergraduate career, Bailey held active leadership roles in many organizations, including the Honors College, Chi Omega Fraternity, Lambda Sigma Honor Society, EagleTHON, Southern Style, and the Communication Studies Association. She also served in other PR roles in the Hattiesburg community as an event planner, content producer, and social media manager for local businesses.
Bailey also held an administrative assistant position for the School of Communication. While completing her Master’s Thesis, she worked as a Graduate Assistant teaching Intro to Public Speaking. She fulfilled a communications and marketing internship with Harpeth Consultant Advisory Group. Bailey is passionate about working with children and is eager to continue using her strengths to improve child welfare in Mississippi. A native of Hattiesburg and raised in Jackson, Bailey attended private and public schools as a child, giving her a sense of the injustices in our state. Her work at the Children’s Foundation will help create systems change to improve the quality of life for all Mississippians.
