Nelle Cohen lives happily in a glorified cow pasture in Starkville, Mississippi with her husband John and several rescued dogs. She is the mother of two adult children, Jordan and Avery.
Nelle’s hobbies include all things Mississippi State Athletics and volunteering in her community and around the great state of Mississippi for Good Causes.
Nelle is a member of the CREATE Foundation’s Commission on the Future of Northeast Mississippi and serves on several local and statewide boards, including Starkville Oktibbeha Unity League (SOUL) and the LGBTQ Fund Advisory Board of Mississippi. She was a founding board member for Mississippi State University’s Collegiate Recovery Community. With over 26 years of recovery from alcoholism, Nelle is dedicated to helping people live lives that are happy, joyous, and free from addiction. In 2017, Nelle was named Outstanding Community Woman by the President’s Commission for the Status of Women at Mississippi State University. She is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College (BA Sociology) and Northwestern State University of Louisiana (MS Health Promotion).
